Right now, I’m in a season of big, bold, generational decisions.
These aren’t the kinds of choices that pay off next quarter or even next year. These are the long-game decisions—the ones that shape the future of my business, my family, and the legacy I want to leave behind.
These are the hardest decisions to make.
They come with uncertainty.
They demand courage.
And they rarely offer immediate clarity.
But they matter more than ever because growth favors uncertainty.
We’re living in a time where the future feels radically different from our present. And yet, many of us are frozen—staring down decisions we know are important, but letting fear keep us from moving.
But, uncertainty is the very environment where bold moves matter most.
📊 65% of global leaders say uncertainty drives innovation.
📈 20% of Fortune 500 companies are increasing strategic planning during this season.
Why? Because when the world feels uneasy, that’s when you gain ground.
It’s when competitors pull back—and you step forward.
It’s when top talent is looking for companies with vision and courage.
It’s when customer loyalty is built through consistency and trust.
So I’ll ask you what I’ve been asking myself:
Are you using this time of uncertainty to think differently about your future?
Are you avoiding the bold decisions—or are you preparing to make them?
When I’m facing a difficult or high-stakes decision, especially one that feels like it could change everything, I run through three key questions:
- The 10-Year Test
I ask: Will I regret not doing this in 10 years?
This reflection cuts through the noise. Most of the time, I know deep down that if I don’t step into the opportunity in front of me, I’ll look back and wish I had.
- What’s the Worst That Could Happen?
I get honest with myself. What’s the actual worst-case scenario? Yes, some risks are financial. Some are reputational. But even then—will I learn? Will I grow? Will I still be ahead of those who stayed paralyzed in fear?
Almost always, the answer is yes.
- What’s My Contingency Plan?
Boldness doesn’t mean recklessness. It means having the courage to move and the wisdom to adapt. So I ask myself: If this doesn’t go the way I expect, how quickly can I pivot?
Knowing I can choose again gives me the confidence to move.
Right now, I’m making one of the boldest decisions in my business journey:
I’m stepping into a new role. I’m intentionally pulling back from being the one making every decision—so my team can step into greater ownership and leadership.
It’s uncomfortable. It’s scary.
And it’s absolutely the right move.
Because I know that for us to grow, I need to grow. I need to lead differently. And I need to trust the incredible people around me to help build the next chapter.
Your Turn
Fear is usually pointing us toward the decision we most need to make.
So where are you feeling fear right now?
What bold move is calling you—even if you’re not ready?
What would happen if you took one step toward it today?
The future will be shaped by the decisions we make right now—in the uncertainty, in the discomfort, in the in-between.
